Mark Pomerantz
A pianist, composer/arranger, conductor, music copyist, and lecturer, Mark has performed with such notables as Bill Watrous, Marvin Stamm, Arnett Cobb, Diahnn Carroll, Redd Foxx, Pat Paulsen, Pete Barbutti, Beryl Davis and the orchestras of Ter Beneke and Russ Morgan. He has toured throughout Europe and South America with various small groups and big bands. His compositions and arrangements have been performed by high school and college bands throughout the United States and by Stan Mark (former lead trumpet with Maynard Ferguson), The Dallas Jazz Orchestra, The Houston Jazz Society, and The Pat Longo Orchestra in Los Angeles as well as a number of festivals including The Wichita Jazz Festival, The Aspen Music Festival, and The Berkeley Jazz Festival.

In addition to his performing and writing activities, Mark has conducted a number of musical shows including Guys and Dolls, Fiddler On The Roof, Ain't Misbehavin', Sophisticated Ladies, Oliver, My Fair Lady and Crazy For You. He was also a music copyist for the Lou Rawls Parade of Stars, and the Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy Telethon. Mark has also given lectures on the history of Jazz and the history of the Big Band Era for various public and private groups throughout Texas. At present Mark currently resides in San Antonio where he frequently performs with such local jazz notables as: Small World and trombonist Ron Wilkins, among others.
